Through this 2 weeks Ashtanga Yoga Immersion Course, the practitioners will experience a deeper understanding of embodied sensation, breath and bandha.
The result of practicing with this deeper understanding is the cultivation of full embodied awareness that ultimately leads to reawakening the organic intelligence of the body-mind-consciousness system. This kind of fully embodied awareness goes beyond the asana practice and bears fruits into a deeper and fuller experience of all aspects of life.
A deep immersion into daily morning practice and afternoon sessions will gradually bring practitioners to experience and allow their own organic intelligence to blossom.
Morning Sessions
There will be six morning sessions per week consisting of traditional Mysore style practice on Sunday-Thursdays and a led primary series on Fridays followed by a short discussion group.
Afternoon Sessions
There will be 4 afternoon sessions per week on Monday-Thursdays. Lectures will be supported with specific simple and non strenuous exercises focused on discovering and deepening the understanding of concepts like body awareness, bandha, prana and the pranic and apanic energetic patterns. These sessions are designed as an integrated support for the morning Mysore practice.
During these sessions we will also explore the philosophy, history, theory and technique of the Ashtanga Yoga method as taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and his grandson R. Sharath Jois in Mysore, India. and how we can apply all of this into our daily modern life in a conscious, undogmatic manner.
Practitioners are encouraged to submit questions or topics they see relevant to the course.
